Approaching the audio description of humour

Este artículo tiene como propósito principal ofrecer una introducción a la audiodescripción (AD) y realizar una aproximación a la cuestión de la AD, a la vez que se comenta brevemente la situación actual de esta práctica y se mencionan algunos de los trabajos más representativos de este campo. A continuación se presenta un estudio de caso cuyo principal objetivo consistió en analizar (desde una perspectiva descriptiva y centrando la atención en los chistes visuales) la AD de la comedia británica I want Candy (se muestran varios ejemplos con objeto de ilustar cómo se manejó el humor). Algunos de los resultados obtenidos son: 1) si bien se detectaron ciertos momentos puntuales y marginales en los que la descripción se superpuso al diálogo, en términos generales se respetó la regla de usar los espacios o silencios entre diálogos para incluir la descripción (lo que en ocasiones supuso la pérdida de elementos potencialmente humorísticos) y 2) casi dos quintas partes de los fragmentos visuales potencialmente humorísticos no se describieron, probablemente debido a las restricciones temporales. Two-phase RTD-CMOS pipelined circuits

MOnostable-BIstable Logic Element (MOBILE) networks can be operated in a gate-level pipelined fashion (nanopipeline) allowing high through output. Resonant tunneling diode (RTD)-based MOBILE nanopipelined circuits have been reported using different clock schemes including a four-phase strategy and a single-phase clock scheme. In particular, significant power advantages of single-phase RTD-CMOS MOBILE circuits over pure CMOS have been shown. This letter compares the RTD-CMOS realizations using a single clock and a novel two-phase clock solution. Significant superior robustness and performance in terms of power and area are obtained for the two-phase implementations

Energy Level Alignment in Organic-Organic Heterojunctions: The TTF-TCNQ Interface

The energy level alignment of the two organic materials forming the TTF-TCNQ interface is analyzed by means of a local orbital DFT calculation, including an appropriate correction for the transport energy gaps associated with both materials. These energy gaps are determined by a combination of some experimental data and the results of our calculations for the difference between the TTF_{HOMO} and the TCNQ_{LUMO} levels. We find that the interface is metallic, as predicted by recent experiments, due to the overlap (and charge transfer) between the Density of States corresponding to these two levels, indicating that the main mechanism controlling the TTF-TCNQ energy level alignment is the charge transfer between the two materials. We find an induced interface dipole of 0.7 eV in good agreement with the experimental evidence. We have also analyzed the electronic properties of the TTF-TCNQ interface as a function of an external bias voltage \Delta, between the TCNQ and TTF crystals, finding a transition between metallic and insulator behavior for \Delta~0.5 eV

La prevención de riesgos laborales en la negociación colectiva

Las disposiciones contenidas en la Ley de Prevención de Riesgos Laborales constituyen el mínimo legal que debe tener cualquier actividad laboral y es el Convenio Colectivo el que debe mejorar y desarrollar esas disposiciones. Sin embargo, la LPRL no ha supuesto un impacto apreciable en los convenios colectivos firmados recientemente, que mantienen en gran medida la inercia de una consideración de la salud laboral en sus aspectos meramente reparadores y compensadores. La salud no puede seguir siendo considerada una moneda de cambio en las mesas de negociación, siendo una condición esencial de la relación de trabajo digna de respeto y mejora. Es innecesario y empobrecedor en los convenios colectivos limitarse a reproducir, o en el mejor de los casos remitir, a una normativa que por su rango legal vincula sin necesidad de su reflejo en el texto del convenio. En el presente trabajo se aborda la situación actual de la Negociación Colectiva en materia de PRL, analizando qué tipo de cláusulas se están negociando, lo que lleva a afirmar que los actuales Convenios Colectivos no están recogiendo la letra ni el espíritu de la LPRL. En este sentido, son muchos los Convenios Colectivos que no abordan la Salud Laboral de manera eficaz, ya que se olvidan de la materia o se limitan a hacer referencias inconexas a la legislación vigente. Al mismo tiempo, se realiza una propuesta de las cláusulas que deberían introducirse en los Convenios Colectivos para combatir de modo más eficaz la siniestralidad laboral._______________________________The provisions in the Law on Health and Safety at Work are the minimum that should have any legal work and the collective agreement which should improve and develop those provisions. Is unnecessary and in collective agreements immiserizing simply reproduce, or in the best case forward to a law which by their legal status without the need of linking their reflection in the text of the convention In this paper addresses the current status of collective bargaining on Health and Safety at Work, analyzing what kind of terms are being negotiated, leading to say that the current collective agreements are not picking up the letter or the spirit of the LPRL. In this sense, many collective agreements that do not address the occupational health effectively because they forget the subject or simply refer to unrelated legislation. At the same time, there is a proposal that the clauses should be introduced in the collective agreements to fight a more effective workplace accidents

¿Cuántos clusters hay en una población?

Sea una población cerrada formada por un número desconocido K y finito de clusters. El método bootstrap es utilizado para estimar el número de clusters que constituyen una población. Se propone un estimador para K, el cual es ajustado y corregido por su sesgo estimado mediante el método bootstrap de Efron (1979). La varianza del "estimador bootstrap" se calcula por el método jackknife agrupado. Mediante simulación, el estimador es comparado con el de Bickel y Yavah (1985)
